After School Program

Post Date:08/10/2017 9:41 AM

Registration for the City of Abilene Recreation Division After School program will begin Tuesday, August 15th.  The after school program operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Rose Recreation Center, G.V. Daniels Recreation Center, Sears Recreation Center, and Cobb Recreation Center.  The program is open to children ages 6 to 13, beginning August 28th and continuing throughout the AISD school year.

Transportation will not be provided by the Abilene Recreation Division; however some AISD school sites do offer transportation to the Recreation Centers.  Staff assists with homework, plans organized gym games, leads arts and crafts projects, coordinates field trips, and more.  The After School program will meet on early release dates, but not other Abilene ISD holidays or in-service days.

The program is free for children that are on the free or reduced meal program; for those not on this program, it is $15 per week.  Online registration begins on Tuesday, August 15th at www.abilenetx.com/signup or you can register in person at the Community Services office at 633 Walnut.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required to participate.
