Share Your War Stories in University Project, May 15

Post Date:05/11/2017 11:31 PM

01 War StoriesHave you served in the military at any point since WWI? Do you have stories or memorabilia you feel are worth preserving? If so, you're invited to be a part of a special project titled War Stories: West Texans Experience War, which is being headed by Angelo State University's (ASU) Department of History.

Representatives from ASU will visit the Main Library (202 Cedar St.) on Monday, May 15 from 9AM to 4PM to collect the stories of any interested participants in our community.  This initiative is designed to help preserve the experiences and stories of West Texas veterans and their families.  Such will be achieved through interviews, digitizing your photographs, letters, diaries, memoirs, or other artifacts of interest relating to your service.

Whether you're a veteran of any branch of service, or a loved one of a veteran with stories to share, you may be exactly who this project is looking for.  If you are interested in learning more, or participating, feel free to email the project directors at warstories@angelo.edu or call them at 325-943-2227.  You may also drop in at the Main Library on May 15 without an appointment; however, if there's a strong demand, it's best that you contact the directors to setup a time to be seen.

Don't pass up on your chance to be a part of this exciting project and share your stories so they may be remembered and preserved for others to experience.
