Detectives Arrest Man Just Months Apart for Once Again Targeting Children
ABILENE, TX – On April 20, 2017, Detectives with the Abilene Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit arrested David Lee Longman, DOB 4/7/94, for Online Solicitation of a Minor. This is the second time in 8 months that Longman has been arrested for soliciting underage females online. In August of 2016 APD Detectives arrested Longman for Online Solicitation of a Minor and Sexual Assault of a Child.
Detectives, working from information gathered online, learned that Longman was once again soliciting female children. On April 20, 2017, a search warrant was executed at a home in regards to furthering the investigation, Longman was arrested.
Detectives are requesting that individuals come forward with information regarding this investigation by calling (325) 673-8331. Longman frequently used phone applications such as KiK, MeetMe, Snapchat and other online social media platforms to target and engage with underage females.
Longman preys on children by pretending to be an underage male, then asking young children to send him obscene photos. The investigation has revealed that Longman has met with and assaulted multiple victims after beginning an online relationship. Detectives believe there may be other victims that are unknown at this time. Detectives would also like to remind parents and users of these applications that there are predators in the community who use these apps to prey on children.
