Robbery Suspect Arrested
ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department arrested 29 year old Charles Brewer this morning, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, and charged him with Robbery. Employees at a grocery store located on the 900 Block of North Willis called dispatch at 6:30 a.m. to report a robbery. They reported a black male entered the store, went to one of the clerks and shoved them, grabbed and undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled in a white SUV with paper tags.
A suspect and a vehicle description was given to police who arrived on scene. A short time later, Patrol discovered a vehicle matching the description given at a southwest Abilene home. Brewer was located and arrested without incident at a home located on the 200 Block of Arnold Blvd. Along with his arrest, 32 year old Brandy Brewer who was in the home was also arrested for outstanding warrants.
Minutes earlier at 6:06 a.m., a report of a possible robbery was called in to dispatch from a convenience store located at 4800 Block of S. 14th. The clerk reported a black male matching the same description of the later robbery, came into the store, asked the clerk to make change, and left in a white SUV with paper tags. The suspect did not gain any money at this store.
He is currently in the Taylor County Jail charged with First Degree Felony Aggravated Robbery and Second Degree Felony Robbery with bonds totaling $150,000.
